A Reddit user recently shared a screenshot from their Grand Theft Auto Online save in which they had just swapped their GTA$ into chips at the Diamond Casino. There are several daily fees in GTA Online that often cause players to spend more money than they expected in order to do some of the tasks that they’re used to such as running a Grand Theft Auto business or getting cars delivered. In an attempt to dodge some of these fees, this GTA Online player has converted their cash into casino chips which are free of such boundaries, allowing the gambler to earn more unimpeded.

Reddit user HaloCanuck has garnered nearly 10,000 upvotes on their upload that shows their character standing near the spinning prize wheel in the Diamond Casino. Their GTA$ has been reduced to zero in the screenshot that shows their cash being turned into chips, with the player’s total currency count reaching 2,474,170 after the adjustments. With over 2 million casino chips and no cash, the GTA Online player intends to gamble without their money being consumed by daily fees and to return to regular gameplay upon burning through their converted fortune.

Although there are multiple GTA Online fees that take a player’s cash as soon as they log in, the Diamond Casino offers fans some freebies like a wheel spin that can earn dozens of rewards, and 1,000 chips to gamble with. The Diamond Casino chips aren’t reduced by daily fees in the same way that GTA cash is which may add some credence to HaloCanuck’s plan to avoid the periodic reductions. There are many GTA Online casino games that players can partake in with these chips like Blackjack, Roulette, Slots, and three cars poker, while the currency can also be used to purchase things in the casino store.

Because HaloCanuck may earn more chips than they lose in the GTA Online Diamond Casino, their GTA$-free gameplay may be extended multiple times before their chips are dwindled down to zero. Given how much gambling the GTA Online player will be able to do with over 2 million chips, their experiment to stay in the Diamond Casino may last a while before they’re forced to return to earning GTA$.

Grand Theft Auto Online is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
